Context

Overheating in laptop batteries is a significant issue, often caused by accumulated waste heat from internal components like the CPU, GPU, and motherboard. This excess heat can lead to slow charging or even complete charging cessation, affecting device performance and user safety. Traditional solutions have struggled to effectively isolate heat from critical battery components, necessitating innovative approaches. This project aims to implement a novel thermal management solution that prevents heat transfer to the battery area and efficiently dissipates accumulated waste heat, thereby enhancing battery performance and longevity.

We propose an advanced thermal design to address battery overheating by introducing a specialized barrier system. The design involves creating an “air curtain” using carefully selected insulating materials strategically placed within the device. This barrier prevents hot air from reaching the battery region and improves overall heat dissipation. Implementation includes attaching insulating layers near heat sources and integrating them into the existing thermal module. Additional strategies involve enhancing insulation between the motherboard and battery, improving ventilation near the battery area, applying thermal pads, and optimizing cooling systems to further reduce heat accumulation.
